Instead of calling this blog a food blog, I’d rather call it a ‘this is what Susie ate and how she felt about it’ blog. Other food bloggers are so good at describing things and explaining textures and tastes. What do I do? Use the word yummy a lot. This post will illustrate that point.
Le Diplomate has been on every best new restaurant, must eat, must brunch, best bread, best cocktail, etc. list since it opened it’s doors almost a year ago. I’m slow to get on board of hype, but testimonials from friends made me super curious. I’ve also heard of how difficult it is to get a table there, but we had no trouble getting one a week ahead of time. Our willingness to dine early-ish (5:30/6PM) on a Tuesday night might have helped as well. So, one cold February evening, Food Bestie and I trudged up 14th street to dine at Le Diplomate. Here’s what happened (apologies for the low quality of the pics):
When at a French restaurant, it’s only logical.
So very super yummy!
I tried a bit of this, also quite yummy.
Tried a bit of this, super super yummy.
Super duper yummy.
So, yeah. Everything was really yummy and the atmosphere is fun and laid back, but do be prepared to basically ingest some butter when dining there. After all, it must be a major contributor to the yumminess. I can’t wait to go back.
